Yes, the retractable USB cable is detachable. To unplug it, firmly grasp the USB connector body, not the cable, and carefully slide the USB connector off the end of the Wi-Fire. Be careful when pulling the USB connector to pull it straight off, and not to twist it or apply any side-to-side force because this could damage the internal circuitry. As with any cord, grasp the thick plastic body of the connector, not the cord itself, when pulling.
